Samuel Merrill on far-right narratives ahead of the 2026 election

DIGSUM researcher Samuel Merrill is featured in a new Umeå University article on how Sweden's international image is being reshaped in digital environments ahead of the 2026 general election.

The piece draws on findings from the project The Radicalisation of Sweden's Image, funded by the Swedish Research Council (VR), in which Samuel and an international team of collaborators have examined how far-right actors in the United States, Germany, China and India mobilise Sweden symbolically in their own political narratives.
