To mark ✨ ten years of research ✨ within the Centre for Digital Social Research (DIGSUM), we are delighted to launch a new seminar series celebrating a decade of interdisciplinary digital scholarship at Umeå University. Throughout the coming year, DIGSUM will host monthly seminars featuring leading researchers, emerging scholars, and invited speakers working at the intersection of digital technology and society.
The seminar series highlights the breadth and vitality of digital social research across the Social Sciences Faculty and beyond, showcasing work in Sociology, Informatics, Pedagogy, Law, Social Work, and others. Each seminar invites conversation on the sociotechnical conditions shaping contemporary life – spanning digital cultures, algorithms and automation, data governance, platform power, digital politics, ethics, and more.
