The full programme for Generated/-ive Futures, the DIGSUM Symposium taking place on 6–7 October 2026 at the P5 conference centre, Umeå University, is now available at genfutures.net. The symposium is part of the tenth anniversary programme of DIGSUM, the Centre for Digital Social Research, and brings together international scholars to discuss how generative AI participates in shaping societal futures.
Keynote lectures will be given by Sarah Pink (Monash University), Helen Kennedy (University of Sheffield, DIGSUM Honorary Doctor), and Gabriele de Seta (University of Bergen). Around thirty speakers and chairs contribute to seven themed sessions over the two days, spanning topics from information, truth, and moderation, through the political economy and infrastructures of AI, to memory, governance, work, and queer futures of AI.
