Welcome back to DIGSUM seminar series!

We at the Centre for Digital Social Research (DIGSUM) welcome you back to the seminar series celebrating a decade of interdisciplinary digital scholarship at Umeå University. Throughout the year, DIGSUM will host monthly seminars featuring leading researchers, emerging scholars, and invited speakers working at the intersection of digital technology and society. We will start with two interesting seminars in September (see programme below).

The seminar series highlights the breadth and vitality of digital social research across the Social Sciences Faculty and beyond, showcasing work in Sociology, Informatics, Pedagogy, Law, Social Work, and others. Each seminar invites conversation on the sociotechnical conditions shaping contemporary life – spanning digital cultures, algorithms and automation, data governance, platform power, digital politics, ethics, and more.

The programme below is preliminary. We will keep you updated!
